QUINTA DO NOVAL COLHEITA
THE WINE OF A SINGLE HARVEST
THAT HAS MATURED ITS WHOLE LIFE IN CASKS
Fine and elegant,
a journey through time
The old Tawny Port for the lover of old Tawny Ports. Whereas our great 10, 20 and 40 year-old tawnies are blends, designed to maintain a consistent house style, a Colheita takes its personality from the year in which it was made. Each Colheita is distinctive yet at the same time strongly marked by the Quinta do Novalterroir. These are very rare Ports and some of the greatest of all Douro wines, produced in tiny quantities and undeservedly unrecognised.

ENJOY IT
Particularly enjoyable:
- with cheese
- with a dessert
- or simply on its own whatever the occasion
SERVING TEMPERATURE
Serve cool: 9-14°
DECANTATION

WHEN CAN I DRINK IT?
BEFORE OPENING
It is ready to drink as soon as it is bottled.
AFTER OPENING
It can be enjoyed for about 3 months, keeping the bottle in a cool place. This wine is ideal for serving by the glass.

PRODUCING A VINTAGE OLD TAWNY
In exceptional years, certain lots of wine with great ageing potential are set aside to spend their lives maturing in casks. At a given stage, we decide to bottle a part of a vintage. The rest is kept in casks where the wine will mature into new expression at a later stage. Thus, one and the same Colheita vintage can be put onto the market on 3 or 4 occasions: after 15 years, 30 years or 40 years of maturing, and in some cases even longer.
WHERE THE GRAPES COME FROM
All grapes come from th vineyard e Quinta do Noval
Grapes from Quinta do Noval are trodden by foot to obtain the must, then during fermentation are pressed in lagares, the traditional stone vats from the Quinta.
Legislation requires a minimum ageing period of 7 years in casks. At Quinta do Noval, Colheitas are commercialised after 10 to 12 years of maturing.
